DESCRIPTION OF TOUR:
We will pick up from your hotel at 9:00 a.m. on our bus to start our tour to the following locations:

MARAS:

El recorrido del maravilloso Camino Inca, en el tramo conocido en la actualidad, nos remonta a la misteriosa y enigmática civilización Incaica, haciéndonos vivir la fascinante aventura de caminar durante cuatro días por el hermoso, espectacular y verdadero camino incaico. Empedrado en su totalidad presenta escaleras y túneles que atraviesan las alturas del valle del Urubamba. La mayor parte del camino serpentea por entre bosques húmedos de las montañas con olor a tierra buena. Por el trayecto veremos con seguridad a las vizcachas, de cuando en cuando a los zorros, a los fabulosos cóndores, y demás especies de aves.


Es necesario aclarar que las caravanas se organizan de acuerdo al número de turistas, y por cada turista van dos porteadores: uno lleva los alimentos programados para cuatro días que dura la travesía y el otro cargador porta carpas, bolsas de dormir y el vestuario que el turista necesitará para los variados pisos ecológicos del Camino Inca.

Los porteadores cobran una módica suma por sus servicios y por lo general son de las comunidades campesinas de Willoq y Patankancha, ubicadas en las partes altas del distrito de Ollantaytambo, comunidad que conserva todavía muchas costumbres incas. Estos nativos por lo general visten trajes típicos que hacen la atracción y el deleite de los turistas. Se ha considerado que, como alternativa al uso de porteadores, se podrían utilizar llamas, las que transportan hasta 30 kilos de peso, dado que en pocas partes del mundo se siguen utilizando personas para el transporte de carga.
